About

Upon the completion of these 5104.16 days, I want to be able to reflect upon this period of time knowing that my time spent was not in vain. Do not be fooled, I am not an idealistic visionary with my head in the clouds as I search for a higher meaning of saving the world; rather I am a highly motivated individual looking to use my abilities to improve my environment and surroundings.

Concerns might be rendered on the focus of my previous experience and its affect on my capacity to work for the United Nations. To this concern, I recommend reviewing my resume. Without any carpentry experience, my first job was spent as an apprentice building an extension; shortly thereafter I became Job Forman managing the same team that taught me. Without any automotive experience within six months I became a service manager responsible for running a multi-million dollar aftermarket eleven bay shop that repaired nearly 300 cars a week, all the while raising the service centers CSI by over 40 points and retaining one of the highest sales in the district. Without any motorsports experience I became a manager at the IHRA second largest Drag Strip in the World. In less than six months I developed and improved racing programs that have not only increased awareness of the track and gained tens of thousands of dollars beyond my salary but have also taken great strides into making the Motorplex into a better corporate citizen. Yet another example; US131 Motorsports Park has only one event out of the entire year that is covered by the news stations, yet an event I designed, implemented, and coordinated entitled “Beat The Heat: A Tribute To Our Heroes,” not only attracted a few newspapers but also numerous TV stations. This was done once again without any previous experience in public relations or media.

I have never failed at any task that was given to me, even though when starting each of my jobs the lack of previous experience in the field would dictate that I would. As utilized in my previous employment, a proven method of success that I will use for the United Nations if given the opportunity to work for you, is viewing the world not in its problems rather through the eyes of possible solutions with the major concern finding the best one. As I have learned from my previous experience, the best way to achieve a near perfect solution in such a diverse world where cultures, states, and religion differ so greatly is through a mutual compromise. With every successful step taken, I focus on continuous improvement. The very moment when most people would sit back and pat themselves on the back for a job well done, I am back on the “drawing board” analyzing on how I can do better. I believe it is this critical moment, the moment when people bath in their success, that the slight advantage necessary to solidify near-perfection lies. Continuous improvement isn’t a buzz phrase that a savvy business person uses rather it’s a lifestyle, it’s my lifestyle.

Obtaining a position within the United Nations, be it in Humanitarian Affairs, Human Rights, or a related field will allow me the medium to not only sustain my thirst for improving the world but give me peace of mind that my 5104.16 days were spent in the pursuit of a purpose larger than myself.
